Tax Manager / CPA / Enrolled Agent

Our firm is looking for a local, experienced CPA or Enrolled Agent to join our growing team as a Tax Manager

Position Overview:

In this position, the ideal candidate will lead and be responsible for reviewing and preparing complex tax returns for clients to ensure accuracy and compliance with all relevant Internal Revenue Service (IRS) regulations. Clients may also need you to research and examine other tax documentation for planning purposes. Our ideal candidate has a Master’s degree in accounting, an active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license or an Enrolled Agent, and at least five years of experience in public accounting. This is a hybrid position. Candidates must live near our office and be willing to work in the office part of the time.

Responsibilities include:
  • Review and prepare complex tax returns, including multi-state returns for Individuals, Estates and Trusts, Partnerships, and S and C Corporations.
  • Build relationships and interact with clients to provide excellent planning, consulting, and expertise.
  • Identify and mitigate tax risks.
  • Respond to IRS, state, and tax authorities’ inquiries.
  • Supervise multiple engagements simultaneously.
  • Perform technical research.
  • Train staff members.
  • Other duties as required.
Requirements & Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Master’s in Taxation preferred.
  • CPA certification, an Enrolled Agent, about to sit for the exam.
  • 5+ years of recent experience in tax with a public accounting firm.
  • Familiarity with IRS regulations.
  • Strong leadership and personnel management skills.
  • Ability to work additional hours around deadlines.
  • Software knowledge: Intuit and Lacerte/ProSeries are a plus.
  • Desire to continue to grow with the firm.

Staff Accountant / 3 Years Experience
Position Overview:

As a Staff Accountant specializing in tax preparation, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and timely tax returns for our clients. You will work closely with senior accountants and other team members to ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations while providing excellent customer service. This is NOT a remote position; the candidate must be present in the office.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare individual, corporate, partnership, and other types of tax returns.
  • Assist in the preparation of tax projections and tax planning for clients.
  • Research various tax issues and stay updated on tax laws and regulations changes.
  • Review financial records, such as income statements and documentation of expenditures, to determine forms needed to prepare tax returns.
  • Collaborate with senior accountants to gather and analyze client information.
  • Respond to client inquiries and provide support during the tax preparation process.
  • Assist in the resolution of tax issues and discrepancies.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Masters in Accounting, preferred.
  • Three years of experience in tax preparation within a public accounting firm is preferred.
  • CPA or Enrolled Agent certification or working towards certification is preferred.
  • Ability to work additional hours around deadlines.
  • Proficient in software knowledge such as Intuit, Lacerte/ProSeries is a plus.
  • Desire to continue to grow through continuous training.

Experienced Bookkeeper

With a commitment to excellence, accuracy, and integrity, we have built a strong reputation in the industry. We seek an experienced local Bookkeeper to join our dynamic team.

Position Overview:

As an experienced full-charge bookkeeper, you will be crucial in providing bookkeeping and payroll services for our valued clients. This is not a remote position; the candidate would be full-time in the office.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Providing scheduled accounting services for business clients to include monthly bookkeeping, payroll processing, monthly & quarterly tax filings & compilation of financial statements.
  • Prepare and process year-end reports, 1099’s, and W-2’s.
  • Reconcile bank statements, credit card statements, and other financial records.
  • Process Sales tax for clients.
  • Stay up-to-date with accounting and payroll regulations to ensure clients’ compliance.
  • An understanding of business and income tax worksheets & computations.
Qualifications:
  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field is preferred.
  • Three years of full-charge bookkeeping experience (general ledger, payroll, payroll reports/taxes, payables); required, preferably with experience in a public accounting firm.
  • Proficiency in accounting software QuickBooks, QuickBooks Online, ACS, and MS Office Suite.
  • A strong understanding and knowledge of payroll processing, tax regulation, financial reporting, and generally accepted accounting principles are required.
  • Excellent client service skills, including quickly developing strong relationships with existing and new clients.
  • Exceptional attention to detail; ability to work independently, effectively prioritize & multi-task.
  • Reliability & commitment to consistently meeting deadlines.
  • Professional and effective oral and written communication skills.
  • QuickBooks ProAdvisor Certificate preferred.

Reception / Administrative Professional
Position Overview:

We seek a detail-oriented and proactive Administrative Assistant to join our dynamic team. As the first point of contact for clients, you will play a crucial role in creating a welcoming environment. This role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth operation of our busy accounting office. The ideal candidate will be an organized multi-tasker, capable of handling various administrative duties with efficiency and professionalism.

Responsibilities:
  • Administrative Support: Provide comprehensive administrative support to the accounting team, including managing the office calendar and preparing documents.
  • Client Communication: Act as a primary point of contact for clients, answering and effectively screening incoming phone calls on a multi-line phone system. Handle inquiries, assist clients with filling out forms, and ensure all documentation is complete and accurate. 
  • Document Management: Organize and maintain physical and electronic filing systems, ensuring the secure and efficient storage of confidential documents. 
  • Data Entry: Accurately input data into accounting software and databases, maintaining up-to-date records. Assist with basic bookkeeping tasks, such as invoicing and processing payments.
  • Office Coordination: Oversee daily operations, including ordering supplies, managing office equipment, and ensuring a tidy and professional work environment. Assist with the organization of office events and functions. Liaise with building management for any facility-related issues.
  • Report Preparation: Assist in preparing and distributing financial reports, statements, and correspondence.
  • Mail Handling: Sort, distribute, and respond to incoming and outgoing mail and emails.
  • Project Assistance: Support various accounting projects and tasks as needed.
 Qualifications:
  • Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum two years of administrative experience, preferably in an accounting or financial services environment 
  • Skills:
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
    • Hands-on experience with office equipment (e.g., printers).
    • Excellent organizational, multi-tasking, and time management skills. Ability to quickly learn new software and multi-step processes & procedures.
    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality. Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to tasks.
    • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
